IND vs ENG recent cricket match

The India vs England cricket match that took place on February 15, 2021, was the second match of a four-match test series between the two teams. The match was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India.

England won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a good start, with opener Rory Burns scoring 33 runs and Dom Sibley scoring 87 runs. However, the Indian bowlers soon started to make inroads, with spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Shahbaz Nadeem taking wickets at regular intervals. England were eventually bowled out for 134 runs, with Ashwin taking five wickets and Nadeem taking two wickets.

In response, India got off to a shaky start, with opener Rohit Sharma being dismissed for just six runs. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and skipper Virat Kohli steadied the ship, with Pujara scoring a patient 73 runs and Kohli scoring 62 runs. The Indian middle order, including Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant, also chipped in with some useful runs, and India eventually declared their innings at 329 for 7.

England started their second innings on Day 3, and got off to another decent start, with Burns and Sibley once again putting up a good partnership. However, Ashwin soon came into the attack and took three quick wickets to put India on top. England were eventually bowled out for 164 runs, with Ashwin taking six wickets and Nadeem taking two wickets.

India were left with a target of 42 runs to win the match, which they achieved comfortably without losing any wickets. Opener Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma chased down the total in just 7.5 overs, with Gill scoring an unbeaten 15 runs and Sharma scoring an unbeaten 25 runs.

Overall, it was a dominant performance by India, who outplayed England in all three departments of the game. The Indian bowlers, particularly Ashwin, were outstanding, while the Indian batsmen put up a strong performance in both innings. The win also marked a successful return to test cricket for Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who had taken a paternity leave and missed the previous match of the series.

The win also saw India move to the top of the ICC World Test Championship standings, ahead of New Zealand and Australia. The two teams will now face off in the third test of the series, which will take place at the same venue from February 24-28, 2021.
